Sharon Sinclair is an award-winning British writer, playwright and producer whose work combines compelling storytelling with memorable characters, humour and emotional depth. She writes across theatre, television, film and fiction, creating stories that entertain while exploring themes of family, resilience, justice and the extraordinary lives of ordinary people.
As founder of Blackpool Belle Productions, Sharon has written and produced several original stage productions, including sell-out comedies Going Viral: Silver surfers vs TikTokTeens. Ice Cream on the Beach and Fracking Grannies, a comedy inspired by real-life events surrounding anti-fracking protests in Lancashire. The stage production received Arts Council England funding, and Sharon has since adapted the story into a feature film screenplay.
Her television writing includes the award-winning pilot Beside the Sea, which won Best Series Pilot at the Out of the Can International Film Festival, and Gangs of the Golden Mile, a crime drama set in 1980s Blackpool. The series follows a young man who is gradually drawn into the town’s criminal underworld, rising through the ranks to become leader of one of the Golden Mile’s most powerful gangs.
Sharon is also the writer of Cold Case, Warm Blood, a character-driven crime novel blending an intricate murder mystery with an emotional story of guilt, redemption and second chances. Alongside her crime writing, she continues to develop new theatre productions, television dramas and feature films that celebrate the unique humour, history and spirit of Britain’s seaside communities.
With a passion for championing new writing, Sharon is committed to creating opportunities for emerging writers through Blackpool Belle Productions and is currently working on ‘Page To Stage,’ a competition for emerging playwrights.
