In February 2014, Cuadrilla, a UK-based energy company, announced plans to establish two fracking sites on the Fylde Coast. This news caused concern within the local community, particularly among a group of women determined to defend their area.

United by a common goal—stopping the drilling —they became known as “The Nanas.”
